Call to Arms: Write About Your Local Battlegrounds!

Run Good Club wants to hear about your local Battleground events!

Having just read some reports at the Cryptozoic Volunteer forums, it appears that Battlegrounds numbers are going up. That being said, what is your weekly Battleground scene like? Where do you play, what days, what time, how many show up, and what do you all play there?

I'd like to get some details. Preferably something nice and typed up. I'm looking for weekly Battleground reports that can help advertise your area here on the blog to other readers so that they know that your store is hosting Battleground events!

If you'd like to submit a report, send it to me via private message on the Cryptozoic forums. My name there is 'Rosenfloggen'. Ideal reports that I'll post will be between 500-1000 words in length. You don't have to be a master writer; just include the detailed I included above, maybe with a personal spin on what you play/how long it's been this big/what your hopes are for the future of Battleground events.

I look forward to hearing your stories!

Run Good Club Exclusive Preview: Natural Reclamation

There are two things that Balance Druids are known for in the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game: one of those, I talked about in detail on Tuesday. Here's the cliff-note version: Moonfire spamming is fun.

The other strategy associated with Balance Druids in the WoW TCG, particularly thanks to popular old cards like Force of Nature and the theme's focus in the Blood of the Gladiators expansion, is tokens.

Brian Kibler confirmed to be in Magic Hall of Fame for 2010

Former WoW TCG lead designer Brian Kibler has been locked into the class of 2010 for the Magic the Gathering Hall of Fame. Achieving this status will allow Kibler to be qualified for all Pro Tours. The honor came to him under no small amount of decision from all those who voted: Brian has been playing Magic: The Gathering for over 10 years and had 3 top 8s at Pro Tours before this weekend, with one of those being a win.

Adding onto the awesome weekend he has had, Brian also made it into the top 8 for Pro Tour Amsterdam. ultimately losing in the quarter-finals to professional gamer Michael Jacob.

World of Facebook: The First Official Icecrown Preview!

The first Icecrown preview has been posted, and it is the participation EA for entering in an Icecrown release event. Check it out!

Archives: All rares and epics revealed!

Ron from Warcraft Gaming Center has all of the rares and epics from Archives currently available for purchase on his website. Here's a quick link to the Archives cards for those of you who don't want to navigate over!

A couple of notes:

-While the set is 190 cards officially, the EAs do not count towards that number.
-The commons and uncommons of this set are golden, and will be fully uploaded I was assured soon. Things to look for: EA Foil Corki's Ransom, among many more!
-The Lich King has made his debut as a foil Master Hero in this set. A nice little plant for Icecrown.

I will have a price speculation article up for the weekend on the rares and epics, and will add a piece discussing the commons and uncommons as well. Until then, head on over there and check out what's for sale now!

As a special note: Ron has started the foil Lich King off at $30.00. I wouldn't expect that price to go down. Within 24 hours of starting to post cards, he had already sold 8. And that's with almost no publicity that he was uploading the cards. The Lich King foil is going to be hot, so don't expect it go go down.

The Lich King - In all of its glory

Warcraft Gaming Center has some full-images of the rares and epics available for purchase from Archives. One of them, as confirmed yesterday, is a plant for the Icecrown booster set, The Lich King.

A full image of the Lich King can be seen here.

Thoughts on the newest Master Hero? Personally, I'm going to keep most of my opinions reserved until I see what these Scourge Allies and Scourge Heroes are all about. However, at the same cost as Illidan, The Lich King is respectable. 4 ATK is solid, as is the huge amount of health you gain, and that recursive effect can be very powerful.

The Purple Posts: Epic Collections for each set confirmed

Another new addition to 'World of Facebook', 'The Purple Posts' are a spoof on the bluetrackers from the World of Warcraft online game that track the posts from Blizzard employees (their posts are in blue). In this case, 'Purple' posts are from Cryptozoic employees. Note that I will not be posting every purple post as:

-I like a lot of the Crypto guys and respect the fact that they won't want to be stalked by some dude running a blog
-I don't want to quote them on things they don't want to go on the record for

With that said...Scott Gaeta, also known as Emek on the Cryptozoic forums, confirmed that every expansion starting with Icecrown will be getting its own epic collection! Check out the full post by clicking here.

Another note from this post: The Cryptozoic Facebook calendar confirms that Worldbreaker, the thirteenth WoW TCG set, will be released in November.

Stay tuned to Run Good Club for all important updates in the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

The Lich King?!

Rumors have surfaced about The Lich King's effect from the Icecrown expansion, as it was confirmed back in June as being one of the master heroes for the set.

Well, a certain Ebayer from Singapore recently revealed that The Lich King makes its debut a little early in the Archives all-foil set.

11 cost
Scourge Hero or DK hero required

All allies you control are also scourge

At the start of each player's turn, put an ally from that player's graveyard into play under your control.
 4 Atk / 40 health

Pretty sick. But what does it mean to have a Scourge hero, or Scourge allies? I'm sure we'll find out soon, as Icecrown is expected to hit shelves on September 14!

Previews Magazine releases Worldbreaker tidbit

This is a small little news update regarding Worldbreaker, the start of the fifth block for the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. It was found in Previews magazine, and courtesy to CCGscards (www.ccgscards.com) for being the one to post it on the Cryptozoic Forums.

Worldbreaker brings Goblins and Worgen into the World of Warcraft TCG for the first time, with their own keywords! This new expansion pack also makes new race/class combinations available as Allies and Heroes, and Heirloom equipment will become better the more you have. Green and red dragonflights will take an interest in the WoW TCG, especially their Aspects, Ysera and Alexstrasza. Hero powers will also last much longer than previous "one-shot" powers - and a new keyword makes choosing your resource a lot more interesting.

Worldbreaker
is rumored to be released before the end of 2010. It will be the thirteenth set in the WoW TCG.
