Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer - Brought to you by Elendril?!

For those of you who weren't looking around the Wabash ballroom at Worlds this year, or are not a fan of Brian Kibler on Facebook (and, honestly, who isn't these days? Brian Kibler is even a fan of Brian Kibler!), then you may not have heard about Ascension.

Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer is a deck-building game that made its big debut at Gen Con this year. The designers? Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour Champions and former Upper Deck Entertainment employees.
Ascension was designed by Rob Dougherty, Justin Gary, John Fiorillo, and Brian Kibler. Justin, John, and Brian were former employees at Upper Deck Entertainment and have worked on their products. John and Justin most notably spent time on the World of Warcraft Miniatures Game, while Brian Kibler was the lead designer for the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Players may better recognize him by his vanity card, Elendril, from the Heroes of Azeroth booster set.

The game has generated a lot of buzz in the gaming community, and has achieved 2nd on the Hotness list for www.boardgamegeek.com. They sold over 400 copies of the game as part of a special pre-launch at Gen-Con; with a few of those copies being played in the public events area of the Wabash ballroom at the World of Warcraft TCG World Championship this year!

Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer goes on sale at the end of this month. For more information on the game, check out The Official Ascension Web Site!
